MPLAB Plugin

This page provides support for the MPC plug-in for Microchip's MPLAB.

For more information, contact Byte Craft Limited.

1. When I try to build or make the project, MPLAB (6.30 or possibly later) reports something similar to the following in the Output window:
2. I don't see the toolsuite named "Byte Craft MPC 2.0 Toolsuite" when I use the Project Wizard.
3. While using the debugger (MPLAB-SIM, MPLAB-ICD2) I'm not able to watch a variable in my program.
4. Why can't I set the "Default Search Paths & Directories"?

1.

When I try to build or make the project, MPLAB (6.30 or possibly later) reports something similar to the following in the Output window:

Deleting intermediary files... done. Skipping link step. Not all sources built successfully. BUILD FAILED: Date/Time

The toolsuite plug-in that is included in MPLAB 6.30 does not work as is. This toolsuite is labeled "Byte Craft Assembler & C Compiler" but the one installed with MPC 2.0 is labeled "Byte Craft MPC 2.0 Toolsuite". Use the latter to resolve this issue.

2.

I don't see the toolsuite named "Byte Craft MPC 2.0 Toolsuite" when I use the Project Wizard.

Some earlier beta versions of the toolsuite plug-in may be labeled as "Byte Craft Toolsuite". Ensure that the checkbox labeled "Show all installed toolsuites" is checked.

3.

While using the debugger (MPLAB-SIM, MPLAB-ICD2) I'm not able to watch a variable in my program.

Only global variables can have watches on them because their addresses are exclusive. Variables passed to functions and used within functions share memory with each other so they cannot be watched in the debugger. Use View|File Registers instead.

4.

Why can't I set the "Default Search Paths & Directories"?

This is not yet implemented in the toolsuite plug-in. It will be added in a later revision.
